Fatma Said and Joseph Middleton – Lunchtime Recital
1.00—2.30pm

Artists
Fatma Said soprano
Joseph Middleton piano
Fatma Said and Joseph Middleton are a musical partnership of rare chemistry, and we are delighted to welcome them back to Leeds following performances together on stages around the world. Fatma has captivated audiences with her radiant voice, extraordinary versatility and instinctive musicality, equally at home in opera, concert and song.
Their programme begins with the intimacy and poetry of Lieder, before turning to the vivid colours and rhythms of de Falla. The programme culminates in a set of improvisations and Egyptian songs, offering a glimpse into Fatma’s musical heritage and her remarkable ability to move effortlessly between traditions.
An afternoon of colour, discovery and musical storytelling from two exceptional artists.
“Said and Middleton gave us just the right pacing to draw the listener completely into the inner world of each song…Song recital heaven.” Wigmore Hall, The Arts Desk
