Alexander Koschka

Austrian pianist Alexander Karl Koschka's playing is distinguished by its richness of colour and stylistic versatility.

Beginning his studies in 2017, Alexander studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Sibylla Joedicke, completing his bachelor’s degree with distinction in 2022. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree with Matthias Trachsel. Since autumn 2025, he has been studying Lied accompaniment with Justus Zeyen at the MDW. He has attended masterclasses with Harald Ossberger, Mats Widlund and Marta Zabaleta.

Alexander’s artistic work encompasses solo and chamber music as well as innovative concert formats and contemporary repertoire. In 2023, he participated in the world premiere of Georg Friedrich Haas’s 11,000 Saiten at the Wiener Konzerthaus.

Alexander has participated in several prestigious competitions, including the national level of the Prima La Musica Competition, where he earned multiple awards. At the Munich Piano Podium, he was again recognised with several prizes and received invitations to perform in concert engagements across Germany.

As a Lied accompanist, Alexander is part of a duo with soprano Martina Neubauer. In April 2025, the duo won the Audience Prize at the final of the Sibelius Singing Lied-Duo Competition in Finland, as well as third prize at the International Copenhagen Lied-Duo Competition.
