Yihan Zhao

Yihan Zhao is a postgraduate student at the Royal College of Music in London, where he is studying Piano under Jianing Kong and Dmitri Alexeev, and Collaborative Piano with Richard Uttley and Simon Lepper.

Yihan was generously supported by the Evelyn Tarrant Scholarship and Eileen Rowe Musical Trust for his undergraduate study, in which he was awarded the Chappell Medal as the First Prise in the Chappell Medal Piano Competition 2022.

Yihan’s recent debut at the Wigmore Hall in the 70th Kathleen Ferrier Award was highly commended, and his performance with countertenor Zheng Jiang won one of the greatest accolades from the audience.

As a recent harpsichordist, Yihan has already succeeded in the Prix Annelie de Man, an international harpsichord competition in the Netherlands, as the Second Prize winner in 2023. His involvement in a concert series on Abolition Song and its Legacies at the Handel Hendrix House transmits and interprets lost voices of historical composers and writers.
