Wan-Yen Li

Wan-Yen Li was born in Taipei, Taiwan. She has earned a distinguished reputation as a soloist, Art Song pianist, accompanist, teacher and individual coach.

Following her bachelor’s degree in Taiwan Wan-Yen completed three Master’s degrees in Germany: in Lied interpretation with Prof. Ulrich Eisenlohr, in contemporary piano music with Prof. Pierre-Laurent Aimard and in solo piano with Prof. Florian Hölscher. She earned her Konzertexamen degree in Lied Interpretation under Prof. Stefan Irmer. 

Through her collaboration with artists such as Thomas Hampson and Susan Manoff as well as through masterclasses with James Baillieu, Patricia Petibon,  Anne le Bozec, Javier Arrebola, Bryan Wagorn Wan-Yen has gained much inspiration and artistic insight.

Wan-Yen works as a piano accompanist with numerous choirs and holds a lectureship in several singing classes at the Conservatory for Music and Dance Cologne. In 2025 Wan-Yen was appointed as choir accompanist at the Theater Aachen in Germany. She held concerts in  New York, Paris, London, Basel, Montepulciano, Tokyo, Taipei and in numerous locations in Germany. 

In 2026 Wan-Yen has been invited to Heidelberger Frühling Liedakademie, LIEDBasel Academy und Carnegie Hall SongStudio. Furthermore, she was selected for the Young Artists Programme at the 2026 Leeds Song Festival and Campus Lied et Mélodie by Royaumont foundation.
