Lea Kohnen
German soprano Lea Kohnen graduated from the University of the Arts Berlin in 2024 where she studied with Caitlin Hulcup and Elisabeth Werres.

Lea’s recent engagements include being invited to participate in a workshop with the British Youth Opera during which Lea was privileged to work with esteemed artists such as Dame Emma Kirkby, KS Christiane Iven and Malin Hartelius.
Recent operatic highlights include Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel) at Konzerthaus Berlin and Pamina in a production of Die Zauberflöte at AlleeTheater Hamburg. She also sang Adele in the operetta Die Fledermaus, Ännchen in Der Freischütz at the Festivo festival for chamber music, Enfant (L’Enfant et les Sortièges, uni.t Berlin), Despina in Così fan tutte at the Mozarthaus in Vienna, Thea in the contemporary opera Frühling, Erwachen in Budapest and Carmi in a staged version of Mozart’s oratory Betulia liberata with the Preußisches Kammerorchester.
Lea is very passionate about Lieder and chamber music. Together with string quartet Alinea, Lea performed at the festival Mendelssohn-Tage der Musik Bad Soden and at the Kulturhaus Schwartzsche Villa Berlin. Lea is also part of a lied duo with harpist Gloria Huyghe. In 2023, they were awarded the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Berlin e.V. society scolarship, for whom they regularly create and perform song recitals.
