Jack Redman

Jack Redman is a British pianist, organist and composer, who regularly performs as an accompanist and opera pianist.

Following studies at the Royal Academy of Music under Michael Dussek and James Baillieu, Jack became a young artist at the Georg Solti Accademia in Venice, and at the Oxford International Song Festival with soprano Clara Orif. Competition successes include the pianist prizes at the AESS English Song Competition and the John Kerr Award. Jack has performed recitals at the Wigmore Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields and other venues nationally with flautist Katie Taunton, as Duo Melus. They are supported by the City Music Foundation to pursue the rediscovery of music by Welsh composers and the commissioning of new works.

Jack has played for Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Lyric Opera Ireland, and has performed harpsichord and organ continuo with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Upcoming engagements include playing for The Marriage of Figaro at Glyndebourne and a new chamber opera by Will Todd with The Sixteen.

Jack has had pieces commissioned and performed at Oxford Song, as well as pieces aired on BBC Radio. His song Bright Sunlight recently won second prize at the AESS song composing competition. His choral motet May the Mind of Christ My Saviour is published by the Church Music Society (Oxford University Press).
