Honoka Komoda

Honoka Komoda Japanese born pianist, completed her undergraduate studies at the Aichi University of the Arts in Japan, studying with Irina Chukovskaya, professor of piano and is currently advancing her musical studies in Austria. 

From October 2022 till March 2024, Honoka has been studying in the Postgraduate Piano Program at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw) with Professor Wolfgang Watzinger and Professor Stefan Vladar. Since March 2024, she has been participating in the Master’s program in Lied accompaniment with Professor Justus Zeyen. 

Honoka has won several awards at piano competitions in Japan, and also has performed in the Great Hall of the Vienna Musikverein.  She participated in the Schubertiade “Junge Schubert-Stimmen” at Schubert Castle Atzenbrugg and in concerts organized by Schubert Society.

In 2025 Honoka was nominated for the Anny Felbermayer Förderpreis with baritone Daniel Sauer. She was also nominated for the scholarship of the AMICITIA Foundation and the Yamada Sadao Music Foundation.  She has been selected for participation in the Basel LiedAcademy 2026.

On February 19th, 2026, Honoka will perform on the Hammerklavier at the Brahms Hall of the Vienna Musikverein as part of the concert series “Aus der Schatzkammer” (“From the Treasury”).
